The Perfect Mulled Gin

The clocks went back last weekend, which means we can officially get excited about those dark, cosy nights in front of the fire.... or Netflix (let's be realistic!). So with that in mind, we're looking forward to Bonfire night this week with a warming and spicy tipple to watch the fireworks with. Whether you're off to a big display locally, or watching from your bedroom window, we've got the perfect recipe to light up those taste buds!

This recipe is perfect for gin lovers. It also happens to be super simple, and can be made with ingredients you're most likely to have hanging around in your kitchen cupboards.

  • 100ml Queen Cleo London Dry Gin

  • 400ml apple juice

  • ½ lemon, sliced

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 4 cloves

  • 2 cardamom pods, lightly crushed

  • 1 small cinnamon stick

  • 3 juniper berries, lightly crushed

  • ½ tsp coriander seeds

  • 1 tsp runny honey

  • Bay leaves and lemon slices to garnish (optional)

  • Grab 4 heat proof glasses (or teacups if you're feeling fancy!) and add 25ml of Queen Cleo London Dry Gin to each.

  • Pop all other ingredients into a small saucepan and heat gently until simmering, then strain into a heatproof jug.

  • Pour into the glasses with the gin and give each a stir to combine.

  • Garnish with a bay leaf and half a lemon slice, if you like, and serve warm.
